Santa Croce

We took a bus down from Fiesole and went to the Duomo in Florence (that's the cathedral). I had read a book called "Pippo The Fool" about the man who designed the dome. He made crazy designs and people thought he was a fool. Then he won a competition to design the dome for the cathedral and won.

We went into the cathedral, which was full of candles.

We also went to the top of the campanile (bell tower). There were a lot of steps and very narrow corridors to climb up. From the top were amazing views over Florence and the dome.

Don't forget to look down through the grills - it's a long way down.

Here are my mummy's, my dadday and my own feet!

Goodbye Florence... for now!
